This was my first upgrade after many years ✊ In the autumn, I went to a very small crag in Mladkov, Orlice mountains (my homeland, Czechia) with one legendary boulder 8B(+), unrepeated since 2008 by my friend and really strong climber Martin Stráník - @NoonooSG ✌ I think Martin was completely underestimating his strengths at that time, so he graded this amazing boulder called The End of the World (Konec světa) 8B after a few days of work. It's a pretty proud line and I couldn't wait to try it out with his brother, great climber and routesetter Štěpán Stráník. In the summer of 2024, Michaela Kiersch traveled to South Africa to climb on the legendary boulders of Rocklands. But just two weeks before the flight, she fractured and dislocated her pinky and had three screws put in during surgery. Having her doctorate in Occupational Therapy with a specialty in hands, this was the ultimate cross-section of her life. In her own words, "As an OT, I knew that I needed to prioritize healing. As a climber, I was already in the gym moving my remaining digits and big muscles the next day." She kept her plans to travel to Rocklands and decided to see what she could accomplish while working through the recovery process. Gancho Perfecto 9a+ in Margalef is a sport route bolted by Chris Sharma. Having tried the route 2 years ago and dropping the last move, Toby returned after taking a 2-year break from rock climbing to focus on the Olympics. Gancho Perfecto was Toby’s first 9a+ and his first lead route back on rock. The line shares the same start to the route as Perfecto Mundo 9b+ to a break where Gancho Perfecto heads right and Perfecto Mundo heads left towards its infamous crux. 'Fly'. 20 pitches. 550 meters. 8c. Katherine Choong, the first Swiss woman to climb a 9a route, is looking for a new challenge. This challenge is called «Fly», is 550 meters long, consists of 20 pitches – the top three of which are graded 8b, 8c, and 8b+ – and is located in the Lauterbrunnen Valley in Switzerland. Katherine's film «L'envol» shows the athlete climbing at her mental and physical limit, and the challenges and moments of happiness that a rope team brings with its own partner.

At just 20 years old, competition climbing phenom Mejdi Schalck has shown incredible promise on the IFSC World Cup circuit. It was very nice to revisit Buoux in the South of France again after so many years! ✊ This legendary, classic crag from the 80's changed climbing itself forever and was a dream to be here for every single sport climber in the world back then. One of the first 8a or 8b was established here and I have one pleasant memory from this place, onsighting route Chouca 8a+ in 2005 when I was 12 ✌ Nowadays, we are slowly exploring a relatively new sector, completely opposite of the "old Buoux," where some projects were waiting for my onsight try. We are in Gottreux, a magnificent and majestic cliff overlooking my place in Valais. After freeing Satire (8c+) and Shocker (9a), I decided to combine the two to create a much more difficult route, the integral ! Honestly, it's my most beautiful first ascent achievement and one of the greatest in my life, even if the ascent was fast. I can't wait to hear what the next repeaters think about it!!
